The programs offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Redwoods are carefully designed to develop character and life-enhancing skills. When youth leave the Clubs at age 18, they will have:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Redwoods provide quality programs focused on five core areas key to developing life-enhancing skills and nurturing self-esteem. Programs are offered in a non-competitive environment and are based upon physical, emotional, cultural and social needs, designed to encourage risk-taking and to expand areas of interest. The five core areas of focus are:
Character & Leadership Development Empowers youth to support and influence their Club and community while developing relationships, a positive self-image and respect for cultural differences.
Education & Career Development Enables youth to improve academic skills, apply learning to everyday situations, embrace technology and develop job skills.
Health & Life Skills Encourages young people to make positive lifestyle choices that will nurture their well-being by setting personal goals and learning skills to be successful, self-sufficient adults.
The Arts Enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of visual and tactile arts and crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
Sports, Fitness & Recreation Fosters social and interpersonal skills, fitness, stress management, positive use of leisure time and an appreciation for the environment. |
